For use in the orchestra, the electric siren is installed in a small transport box with a movable lid. A form fitting foam insulates to the outside. There is a switch on the outside of the box to start the siren.
Depending on the dynamics desired, the howling sound can be controlled by the interaction of the lid and toggle switch. With a little practice a "stop" can also be achieved.

Note:
The electric siren replaces the big crank handle sirens used in the past. These are no longer produced due to the technical progress in civil protection.
