Aluminium resonators

The resonators are made of special aluminium tubing produced exclusively for Kolberg Percussion. The surface of each resonator is covered with a rugged, scratch and impact resistant powder coating. The standard colour is silver-metallic; other colours, based on the RAL colour spectrum, are available on request.

Option brass resonators (additional price): The resonators are made of high-quality precision brass tubes with surfaces polished to high gloss.

Adjusting the resonator bases

Due to this feature you can adjust the sound by means of a grip adaptor in an optimal way when climatic conditions change. This system also enables the stop to retain its normal tension during repositioning, so that the sound volume remains constant. This in turn makes it easier to locate the optimal resonance point. The resonators for the notes from A to c2 (A2-C5) can be adjusted.

Innovative height adjustability

A new Kolberg development allows the marimba height to be adjusted synchronously at a single location by one smooth-running crank, located in front of the player on the small end of the marimba. A scale on the side-column precisely displays the adjusted height.

Set-up and dismantling

Due to the nearly complete lack of bolted fasteners, the instrument can be easily assembled and disassembled, even by one person alone: quick-release fasteners connect the centre brace to the side columns, plug-fit dampeners connect the rails and the resonator mounting brackets to the side columns and the resonator blocks are simply hung in place within the frame.

Colour

All frame parts are covered with powder coating. The standard colour of the frame is anthracite-metallic; other colours, based on the RAL colour spectrum, are available on request.

Mallets

The mallet line "Jasmin Kolberg Solo" offers a wide selection of various tone colours thanks to the multi-tone heads. The spectrum ranges from a warm and voluminous tone colour for Bach transcriptions to a brilliant and dominant sound for solo concertos with symphony orchestras.
This mallet line comprises 16 head variants with 2 types of shafts. We would be glad to assist you in your individual choice.
