Crotales by Kolberg Percussion combines the sound tradition of the antique cymbals with modern manufacturing techniques and a worldwide unique playing comfort for every use.
The results can be heard in many of the world's most important concert halls and opera houses, such as the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin, the Opéra National de Lyon, the Vienna State Opera or the Het Balletorkest Amsterdam, and convinces with a richness of sound that ranges from colourful brilliance to full-bodied depth.
Due to the unusual construction with a large diameter and extra thick discs, the crotales obtain a unique full sound volume in addition to their typical bright, floating sound. All crotales are cast from high-quality bell bronze and finished by hand. High-precision machines allow a flawless tuning of each individual instrument as well as of the entire set as a unit.
