Maracas sticks, e.g. for the timpani part of Bernstein's "Westside Story" (Mambo!)
The fibreglass shaft fits comfortably in the hand; the internal beads provide the beautiful and assertive maracas sound. In addition to the hard sounding leather-covered beating surface, the two-head version with a head made of wool felt offers a soft sound variation (MRP2).
